Sub-Tree Aligner future release announcement

Currently, there are a number of bugs in the latest version of the sub-tree alignment (particularly in the tree-to-string and string-to-tree modules).
v3.0 will be released later in July 2010 fixing these bugs and introducing a significant speed boost over the v.2.8.X series.

Important! This release fixes some critical bugs that affect the way data is read by the program. It is recommended that all users that have plain parentheses in their data, i.e. ( and ), rerun all relevant experiments.

• Fixes critical bugs in the way parentheses, i.e. ( and ), are treated by the algorithm that parses bracketed representations of trees. Most affected by these bugs is the tree-to-tree alignment module. They also affect the string-to-string, string-to-tree and tree-to-string alignment modules for the cases where parsed data is used as input for the string-based side of alignment.
• Fixes a critical bug in the way parentheses, i.e. ( and ), are treated by the algorithm that parses POS-tagged sentences. This bug affects the string-to-string, string-to-tree and tree-to-string alignment modules for the cases where POS-tagged data is used as input for the string-based side of alignment.
